Meet Our Planners

Mariel Braun 

 

 

Mariel Braun is a senior at Texas A&M University studying Agricultural Economics with a minor in Economics and an emphasis in Finance, Insurance and Real Estate.Upon graduation Mariel will also receive a Certificate in Financial Planning and a Certificate in International Trade and Agriculture. As a sophomore in high school Mariel became increasingly interested in the financial planning career through her membership in the Academy of Finance program that her school offered. She sought out to learn more about the profession from the only financial planner she knew who happened to be an Aggie. 

At Texas A&M Mariel is involved in her department and serves in a leadership capacity as an Agricultural Economics Aggie REP. Mariel has attended the Financial Planning Association Experience in San Antonio (2012), Orlando (2013) and as a competitor at the FPA Challenge in Seattle this past fall. She has attended the annual Financial Planning seminar put on by the Texas A&M Agricultural Economics department (2010-2014) and serves as the President of the Financial Planning Student Association at Texas A&M.  As a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Mariel serves as the Raffle Committee Chair for her chapters annual Shamrock philanthropy event. Mariel works as a student worker for the College of Science Dean's Office and enjoys cooking, baking and reading in her spare time.

Mitchell Byrum

Mitchell Byrum is a junior a Texas A&M University studying Agricultural Economics, specifically focusing on Finance, Real Estate, and Insurance, with a Minor in Financial Planning. Originally from Magnolia Texas, Mitchell was homeschooled throughout high school, graduating with honors from Lonestar College as well as from other national honor’s societies. While in high school, Mitchell became interested in Financial Planning and interned twice for Ellis & Ellis Financial Planning. Also in high school, he successfully started and ran a landscape design and maintenance company, handling his own business financials and learning the ropes of a good business owner.

 

Currently Mitchell works for Spirit of Texas Bank in their SBA Loan Operations Department. Having transferred from the accounting department, he is very familiar with the ins and outs of banking and lending. However, financial planning is his passion. His goal is to help families and retirees become secure and confident in their finances so that they can enjoy a life free of the stresses of money. 

 

 

 

Steven Chambers is a senior at Texas A&M University studying Finance with an  emphasis on Financial Planning and Commercial Banking. Upon graduation Steven will receive a Certificate in Commercial Banking as well as be able to sit for the Certified Financial Planner board exam. While completing his undergrad at Texas A&M, Steven developed a passion for financial planning. This passion for financial planning is rooted in his deep love for others. As a born again Christian he knows God has called him to the wealth management industry to provide wisdom for those who struggle with their finances.

 

Steven works for a startup company called AggieHelpers, where he serves as the companies Sales Representative. Engaged to his fiancé Aranza Frias, they plan to marry in March 2016. In his spare time he enjoys hanging out with friends, playing sports, crossfit and staying active in ministry.
